Saturday in Santurce

Plaza del Mercado

Sent an Iphone picture to my buddies back at the bank in New York without a word.  I wanted them to wonder, “What’s Will up to?” Not another Saturday in the park, my friends.

I found a place to live in Santurce, not far from Maria.  Saturday we spent the day walking around her neighborhood.  I saw where she went to high school, her church. She asked if I want to meet her there this morning.  I’m on my way now.  “Blue church,” she told me.  I’m thinking, “That’s different.”  But blue skies are all I see ahead of me now.

Last night, I learned to Salsa.  On weekends, when the fruit and vegetable vendors close up shop for the day, the Santurce market becomes a dance floor.  Dancing with Maria last night made me surer than ever she’s the one. If I go back to New York, it will be to buy her ring.
